Colligo Synthetic Systems™ Rigging Hardware

Colligo Marine's unique Colligo Synthetic Systems™ (CSS) standing rigging hardware is an easy-to-install, light weight system that makes it practical to use synthetic line in place of stainless wire for standing rigging on sailboats. The system components - Line Terminator™ End Fittings, Chainplate Distributors and Titanium Brackets - are 1/4 the weight of stainless, corrosion-resistant and easy-to-splice with 12 strand line. No turnbuckles needed. Simple to use and maintain, with no more swages or compression fittings. Sidestay, shrouds & backstay systems are available.
Colligo Continuous Line Luff Furler

Designed for headsails such as gennakers, screechers, code zeros or even staysails. Just roll them up and drop them down. Large diameter, (19 centimeter) sheave for handling sails in demanding conditions. Heavy duty sealed thrust bearings in a sealed housing ensure no corrosion problems. Designed for a continuous drive line so you never run out of line when rolling up your sail. Precision machined from billet aluminum for strength and light weight. Simple, no maintenance, line guide allows easy line changes. For sailboats to 15 meters. Top-rated by Practical Sailor magazine.
Colligo Lashing Cleat

The Colligo Lashing Cleat eliminates the risk of lashing line knots that can loosen or shake out. New Colligo Lifeline Terminator™ Reduces Wear & Tear
On Expensive Synthetic Lifelines
MESA, ARIZONA (USA) - Expensive synthetic lifelines can wear out quickly at the connection points, because the line is typically spliced right to the boat pulpits. The line wears out at these connections because of the tight radius.

Now there’s a simple solution from Colligo Marine - a Lifeline Terminator that uses a sacrificial lashing line - which is much less expensive than the synthetic lifeline.
The Colligo Lifeline Terminator™ is made of lightweight, hard-anodized aluminum, weighs less than an ounce and works with 3-6.4 millimeter synthetic lifeline. There’s a deep grove for maximum line protection, a truncated apex to assure tight splices that won’t come off and perfect-radius lashing holes for lashing line durability. The unique design allows for lashing or pinning for both upper and lower shroud line/ends. Available in blue or black. MSRP $US24.99.

Colligo Marine Journal February 2008
Sail Hardware and Rigging Newsletter
Featured Article: How To Size Synthetic Line For Your Boat
Considering changing your standing rigging to a new technology like Dynex DuxTM synthetic line can cause a lot of stress. After all, it holds your mast up and we all know the consequences of the mast coming down. Issues like chafe resistance, “Yeah its not as tough as steel but, hey, they make butchers protective cloves out of it”. Information like that can help put things in perspective. Creep and stretch can be addressed with unbiased data as shown on our web site.
The data shows that synthetic line can work if you understand how it is to be used, much like sailors learned to use steel when technoglogy produced wire rope to replace the hemp that was used at the time.

Colligo Marine Launches Sail Hardware and Rigging Newsletter
MESA, ARIZONA (USA), December 4, 2007 - Product design and engineering company Colligo Marine has launched Colligo Marine Journal, a newsletter to help keep the industry and boat owners up-to-date on the latest developments in sail hardware and rigging technology.
Featured article summary from the inaugural issue
(Download the newsletter for the complete article. Download instructions below.)
Synthetic Standing Rigging, PBO or Braided?
All the high tech racers seem to be using PBO or even carbon standing rigging these days. The weight reduction advantages over wire and even rod rigging is incredible. But, the price seems to be prohibitive for the average sailor and the durability issues make it seem not worth the effort unless you have bottomless pockets.
A value leading alternative can be braided synthetic line. There are a few good
choices here, Vectran and Dynex Dux are 2. A simple understanding of the material
and constructional properties is all you need. The price of braided synthetic standing rigging is similar and sometimes even cheaper than steel rigging due to the elimination of hardware like turnbuckles!

SIMPLE, LIGHTWEIGHT SYSTEM MOORS BOATS SECURELY

MESA, AZ (USA) - Colligo Marine has redesigned its popular Bridle Plate Mooring System to incorporate a swivel for simpler operation, a new mounting pin that can be seized thru its traditional head pin and a cotter pin for double-security.
The patent-pending Colligo system eliminates line to line interference - no more tangled mooring lines and lines tend to last much longer. Simple, lightweight and corrosion-resistant, the galvanized system maintains mooring line separation to minimize chafe and safely allows redundant lines to the mooring. Two versions are available - one with eyebolt shackles and a premium system with "safety" shackles that uses nuts with cotter pins for extra security.

MESA, AZ (USA) - With the 2007 hurricane season underway and forecasters predicting another active year, Colligo Marine's unique Hurricane Anchor System could help boat owners in the path of storms anchor their vessels securely - even in the highest winds and waves.
The Colligo system allows for the placement of three anchors on a swivel and three lines back to the boat. The boat can then swivel on the anchors without getting anchor chains and lines twisted around each other. The minimum breaking strength for this heavy-duty system is over 30,000 lbs. It comes complete with galvanized bridle plates, shackles and a swivel. Mono and multi-hull models are available.
$US199 - $245 from Colligo Marine, www.colligomarine.com or call 1+480.703.3675.

Hurricane Anchor System Secures Boats Even In The Highest Winds & Waves
For the ultimate in hurricane anchoring protection, the unique Colligo Hurricane Anchor System allows redundant anchors with redundant lines to your boat. Simply attach your anchors to the triple shackleplate and then run lines from the opposite plate back to your boat. The system will rotate on the swivel and keep the lines and anchor chain/rode from tangling, independent of wind direction. Also available with safety shackles and swivel that utilize nuts and cotter pins that do not require seizing. The minimum breaking strength for this heavy-duty system is over 30,000 lbs. |

Continuous Line Luff Furler
Designed for headsails such as gennakers, screechers, code zeros or even staysails. Just roll them up and drop them down. Large diameter (7.5 in) sheave for handling sails in demanding conditions. For sailboats to 48 feet. |

Billet Aluminum Line Guides
New lightweight, colorful line guides are great for leading lines aft from the foredeck or halyards to the cockpit from the mast. The small footprint allows them to be mounted easily on a crowded deck or cabintop. The bright colors make them easily identifiable on an unlit deck which helps to keep toes unbroken. Teflon impregnation in the anodizing keeps line wear to a minimum. Great for organizing lines in front of winches! Available in black, blue or gold, 4 or 2 hole configurations. | |
